This is me. An assortment of things from my life, my thoughts, my religion, school, and music.

Was having a discussion with Areeb and Bush about this.

Well Bushra brought up this issue. Would a Hindu person, or any idol-worshipping person ever make it to heaven? In the Qur’an, idolatry is considered the worst possible offense and sin, and those who follow that path are destined for hell. I understand that, and I’m sure most followers of monotheistic religions will have no trouble grasping that concept. But when you are brought up in a society that is centered on idol worship, can you really blame them for not being able to understand? They are taught, just as us, that their way of life, their religion, is THE path to righteousness. Strong Hindus will therefore look at all other religions and consider it not as impressive as their own religion, just as we look at all other religions and do not consider them completely right. And this sort of mentality, I can completely relate with, and I don’t blame them for not believing in what I believe in. What I don’t understand is that, by sheer luck (or maybe God willed this) they have been brought up in a community where the concept of idolatry is most predominant, is that enough so that God punishes them with an eternity in Hell? It just seems a bit unfair to me, and I’m not sure why I was granted this privilege of being born in a monotheistic culture.
